As I mentioned on the previous page, I recently returned from the Atlanta Dragon*Con. This event usually marks the end of my comic book and sci-fi convention season for the year. However, Wizard World will be sponsoring the first Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con this December, so I may have one more party left in me for 2010. I heard that some national rag said Dragon*Con was the convention for people who were not hip enough for San Diego Comic Con. Having been to both the last few years, plus Heroescon in North Carolina, I can set the record straight. Comic Con is a media event, Heroescon is an actual comic book convention, and Dragon*Con is the biggest drunk@$$ costume party in the world...CASE CLOSED!!! This page from the Final "Krazy Kirby" Crisis was one of the few pages I picked up at Dragon*Con this year. I get to use it to test my theories on the value of comic book art. First, I purchased if from the inker, who usually sell art for less than the penciller. Second, it appears to be a major page from the Final Crisis event, in which the "Krazy Kirby Worlds" of the New Gods and Kamandi are born or reborn (Final Crisis goes from Anthro to Kamandi). Third, the art is by a major up and coming artist in the comic book world these days. And fiinally, since Final Crisis has been over for a while and is now two Crisisi past, the inker gave me a pretty good deal off his original price. I'll be listing this page on Ebay tonight to see if I can still pick a pearl of a page from a tracer's trough...it's not an auction...IT'S A SCIENCE EXPERIMENT!!!
