Kingpin and The Punisher by Brian Hurtt

Arthur Suydam was working in my book for the better part of saturday. While he was working on my kick-ass Hulk, I was wandering the floor looking for who I wanted a drawing from next. That is when I happened upon Brian Hurtt, who was turning out some amazing pieces. What first caught my eye was that he was inking all his art with a brush. I loved that. So I went over and struck up a conversation. I looked at his work on Damned and since everyone was in a suit in that book, I thought, "who's a badass in a suit that I can have him draw?" I came up with the Kingpin. He started working on it, but then said to me that he thought the Kingpin was to boring and asked if I would like someone else. It was then that I came up with the Punisher. It was funny cas we probably talked for like an hour earlier about how much we both loved the Punisher. So we both thought that they should be natural enemies, so why not combine the two. I was so amazed at what he did with this. the characters are great, but my favorite things are the details. The city skyline is a nice touch, and the hand holding the cigar really elevates this piece. It really ties everything together and makes this drawing.

I got this on the 25th of November at the 2006 Mid-Ohio-Con and paid a cool 35 bones for it.
