Description
As I mentioned in the previous pencil pre-lim piece I had bigger plans for the penciled art. I contacted Tom Grindberg and asked if he would consider finishing it. He said sure, but I didn’t pull the trigger at that time because frankly, dinero was a bit short.

However with a wedding anniversary coming up my incredibly generous wife asked me what commission I would like? I mentioned that since I frame all the commissions she gives me, I would like to have the Grindberg JSA, All-Starpalooza inked since I already had a wall space reserved for it. She said sure, I reached out to Tom and asked if he was available to do it and he agreed to ink the piece for the earlier price quote. I

I asked Tom to change a few things regarding costume details. Most significantly I asked for the Atom to be in his second uniform, since I strongly dislike the original look. Go back and look at the pencil pre-lim and you’ll see the difference.

I think you’ll agree Tom did an amazing job and I have an incredible wife.

Here’s a question for you, can you name all 36 characters without looking elsewhere for reference?

Enjoy

What an outstanding grouping of JSA characters! And what a great Anniversary present to boot! (FYI...I can name all but seven JSA members without looking elsewhere.)

The preeminent online gallery for all things JSA, bar none. Amazing work by Grindbery (and yes, I can name them all).

Another ALL-STAR piece by Mike Dunne. Tom outdid himself on this piece -- what a stellar gathering of the Golden Age. Wow.

The word "splendiferous" comes to mind. Assuming that's a word. And if it's not, it should be, just to describe this masterpiece.

What a way to celebrate togetherness, Michael! Truly wonderful. Though now I wonder who's going to get poor Tom the therapy he'll need to recover from such an endeavor? (Amazing patience!)

I don't know the chick to the left of Starman or the dude behind Shining Knight and Steel.

The female Character is Fury introduced by Roy Thomas in Young Allies. The male character you asked about is the Quality hero Quicksilver, who was rechristened Max Mercury in the Flash books serving as a mentor to Bart Allen. regards Michael
