Description

This is a trophy wall that's actually a published splash page from a comic book. From Adventure Comics #507 comes this Splash from Clayton Henry. Clayton was set up in the aisle right behind Brian Bolland's booth at NYCC 2010. A couple of very helpful collectors were nice enough to point out the page to me as a perfect trophy wall example and they were right. A big thank you to everyone that told me about it.

This is Mordru's Throne. In the stone wall behind the throne are the entombed souls of the DC Universe's sorcerers that tried to defeat him. Including from bottom left: Blue Devil, Kid Devil, Torquemada, Raven, Alan Scott, and Zatanna. Sitting on the throne is the White Witch. She defeated Mordru and keeps his dark power trapped inside of her, becoming the "Black Witch" for now, hoping to use this dark power to renew her world..

Clayton completed the piece entirely in pencil and then digitally inked it. I have put his pencils side-by-side with his digital inks for comparison's sake.

After hearing the backstory from you at NYCC I was quite anxious to see the page. It's a great splash that fits in your trophy wall theme perfectly. Clayton has a nice clean style and did a heck of a job. Cheers! N.
