BY CROM! I love this illo of my favorite barbarian! There really aren't that many examples of Byrne doing Conan, so I couldn't be happier with this one. Plus, I love the extra-gritty style Byrne used here, which also wasn't in high use. The quote comes from my asking Byrne about the piece on his forum and that's all he had to say...

The inking on this is atypical of the Byrne. This style makes Conan the gritty and fierce Warrior that we think of from the pulps. Great pickup! Early Byrne!
