DescriptionPen and ink with watercolor caricature drawing by Zim dated 1911. Research identifies "Hank" Messing, who's estate had the drawing, as a sportsman,vendor of newspapers & smoking luxuries and wearing apparel. He had a store located on Hanover Square in Horseheads, NY. Bill Marshall was a farmer that Zim worked for as a youth and later operated a bus service between Watkins Glen, NY and Elmira, NY. Steiger was a barber at Steiger & Son Barber shop. 'TIP' is ???This was published in Zim's Foolish History of Horseheads, copyright 1911, on page 79. Social/Sharing |
