Description

Here's a restoration job I was hired to do which is pretty common. It's a modern cover with no logo, credits or company information. It looks like it could easily be an interior page that's missing the lettering, which affects the value of the piece. This one looks even more bare because of the lack of background detail. After re-creating the missing logo and stats, the piece is clearly a cover and displays that way. It would be nice if the figure was larger, but it's much more presentable now.

Please tell me you are "pasting" this printed text to some kind of celluloid and not the actual drawing. I know you consider it restoration, but really this has to be ruining any kind of long term resale value. I think you should consider cutting a piece of celluloid to put over the art, and to then paste any missing cover elements onto the celluloid, then laying it all out and framing it. This will retain the value of the original art while still allowing for this kitsch look and also giving the collector an "out" if they ever change their mind.
