Mary Marvel : Michael Bair

From the instant I saw this lovely drawing in artist Michael Bair's For Sale gallery, I knew that I'd have to find room in my Mary Marvel gallery for her. Bair's depiction of the World's Mightiest Girl hearkens back to the days when Mary was portrayed as sweet and relatively innocent, before the tarted-up version that DC has foisted upon the reading public over these past several years. Bair takes a subtle, minimalistic approach to the linework that proves effective here.
