I started out on a flat Formica counter top. I laid down a sheet of heavy white linen. I laid the art face down. I laid another piece of linen on top of that. Then I started w/ a medium hot iron and began ironing. I began using a little steam - not so much that it got WET but enough to keep it moist. I increased the heat and steam just slightly as I went being careful not to get the art too moist or hot but it seemed like it HAD to have SOME moisture to work. I patiently went at it for about a half hour lifting the linen and looking at the art to find the worst areas then covering it back up and concentrating on those areas. When I got worried that art was getting too moist I pulled it out slipped between two sheets of paper then between two sheet of 18 x 24 aluminum (in my biz I always have these around) then stacked on 4 60 lb. sacks of concrete and left it there for 4 DAYS. I repeated this process 3 times until I was satisfied w/ the "flatness".
Ouch! Looking at this bent art hurts. I’m happy that it’s flattened out. I’ve been looking for this cover, not sure how I missed it on CAF. Congrats on recovering it!
