Description
The scene is wild but look at all the details. The plants, the lamps, the books on the table, the pattern in Crystals dress are all fascinating. What is that, a sculpture on the table between Ben and Alicia? Is that an abstract painting on the wall?

Update 4-9-11: Stan Lee signed this for me today. The first thing he said when he saw it was "I wrote this". He also confirmed that the notation on the top margin (see 2nd scan "ON NEW ROCK GROUPS") was not his writing and probably Jack's. A contradiction?

Updat 8-7-13: Thanks to Drake for pointing out that the writing on the back is Joe Sinnott's. Yet anthor autograph

I think that this is a great splash. It was "human" moments like this that made Marvel Marvel. What a terrific gift.

Considering the beating he took in the current Marvel v Kirby court case, I'm not surprised that the first thing he said was "I wrote this!" He might have thought you were a lawyer. Brilliant page - I am envious.

Many times I prefer these FF family moments pieces then the battle pages. Kirbys art here engages me to the point that I feel like I am actually there witnessing it live. What a great page, and a mini time capsule. Can't help but notice that as late as 1970 Lee was still calling Muhammad Ali by his former Cassius Clay name.

The first few pages of this comic were just pure magic and you could tell how much Jack enjoyed writing and drawing the Thing! Interesting to note that I have the same Kirby/Sinnott script on the back of the page that I own.

I believe the writing on the back is Roz's. This book came back to the Kirby's in the Marvel art return in the late 80's and She and Mike Thibadeaux cataloged it. There's a complete list somewhere

Beautiful page, with no sign that the end was in sight. Its too bad that Stan and Jack didn't carry on for another hundred issues, but c'est la vie. That's Joe Sinnott's handwriting on the back (unless someone was copying his signature for some reason).

Great Kirby FF splash! A typical kirby atmosphere. I can hear the music ;-)
