Rat Fink sketch by the late, great Big Daddy Roth, Stray Cats - my very first piece of original art from one of the pioneers of lowbrow!

This was by total surprise! Back in '86, I sent a couple of "Sexy & 17" 45s (remember those, kiddies?) by Stray Cats to Big Daddy Roth to be signed. A few weeks later, I get the package back with this little treasure. I have grown to appreciate this more and more as time goes by. Wish I could have met the late, great artist. Even gave me some drawing advice!

Big Daddy Roth spawned two swinging sixties crazes with his far out talent for producing customized hot rods -- Rat Fink and the "Kustom Kulture."

Hadn't really occured to me until now, I guess this is technically my first piece of original art. Not a bad way to start, eh?

Unlike a lot of the designs used for licensed products, THIS wasn't done by one of his studio artists;) PRICELESS!
