Description

Fabulous oil painting on board from 1938 by one of the masters of illustration, Dean Cornwell. From American Magazine, May 1939, story entitled "Song of Honor." Caption reads "suddenly burst through, and a thousand tons of ore poured into the tapping floor." No, Cornwell was not a comic artist, but he had such an influence on early comic and fantasy artists, that I think he fits right in . . .
