DescriptionVERY COOL COVER!!! Below a peek into the mind of D.P. Sold at the San Diego Comic Con Limited to 300!"..BUT THEN I come up with THIS one a few days later, it's a slight variation of the end of one of my favorite stories in the collection, and while it doesn't feature ANY of the main characters it really sums up the feel of the book as good as anything. AND it uses a bunch of perspective and vanishing point tricks that i've picked up along the way, so in a mood and skill sense it really really is the perfect cover. Unlike the first "perfect cover", I (DOUG) reworked the piss out of this thing ...mostly trying to ruin it because i already had a cover and hate choosing between two good ideas. seems like a standard view of a room right? WRONG to add a little unease to the viewer subtle changes have been made. the lettering in the blood has a closer and slightly lower vanishing point than the rest of the room. The picture frame and dresser have a lower vanishing point on the left than on the right. so even though this is simply a picture of a child's room and the average Joe would assume it is creepy because a monster has shot himself in the head...the background does allot of the heavy lifting in convincing the subconscious that something is off about the scene. tricky no? of course the problem now is i have two covers...well no big deal, I can use one for the hardcover version and one for the soft cover version...but then ..."
