Solomon Grundy vs. The Thing by Eddy Newell

The first time I remeber noticing Eddy Newell's art was during his run on Black Lightning. Eddy has a dark, beautiful style that really impressed me. When I saw the pieces he had been posting here at comicartfans, I knew I had to commission him. Eddy draws a great Ben Grimm, and I've had the idea for a Thing/Grundy matchup in my head for a while, so this idea seemed perfect. And Eddy did a fantastic job! I love how Grundy looks out of control, and Ben is trying to keep his temper in check but slowly losing control of it. You just know he's about to throw a left!

This fight would be another slobber-knocker. Grundy may be slightly strionger than Ben, but Benjamin Grimm is smarter and he never gives up. I predict the undead plant-man goes down in five rounds.
