This is the tale of ultimate sacrifice. Jack and Grant both liked Denise... and during a scuffle Denise falls down the steps of the high school and becomes paralyzed. Jack graduates and leaves for college with the goal of becoming a surgeon to return and cure Denise, while Grant stays at home taking care of her. Sure enough, after 8 years of medical school and residency Jack returns and performs the surgery allowing Denise to walk again. Hopeful, he opens a letter from her to learn... she is marrying Grant. Fortunately, nurse Ward is there to make it all better.
