Beautiful cover. I thought Cooke did the best job of any of the artists who have tried to follow Eisner on the Spirit. Especially with the covers, he seemed to really "get" the atmosphere and feel of the original.

If Eisner Was a master in something, it was rain. Never comic book pages felt so wet and soaked through as on his. Well, how fitting that the late modern master Cooke is giving us the same feeling using Eisner's signature character in creating a moody, iconic rendition. Iconic is a word too often used nowadays to level up mid-level pieces, but this is a top-class one that deserves this description.
