I missed seeing a lot of Glanzman's art when it first came out, but I think I can appreciate it better now than I could then. There is a wood-block print quality to this page that I find both fascinating and very satisfying. (On a more personal note, I'm enjoying discovering your collection as you reveal it.)

Thanks, Timothy. Sam's work hasn't received the attention it deserves. That's the problem when an artist never really drew super-heroes. I honestly believe that his U.S.S. Stevens stories are among the best comic book stories ever published. I'd love to see DC collect them into a single volume.

Great work and story by Glanzman. It just gets to the point that, for several reasons, we will never know what we owe the WW II veterans.
