I can't say for certain what this is. I bought it on ebay and it appears to be an original animation drawing, but could be an interpretation or a print.

it captures a memorable scene in this classic anime with perfect detail.

NOTE: After comparing the image to the quality reproductions of Studio Ghibli cels and animation drawings ("dougas"), I am pretty convinced that this is a reproduction. Very high quality, but not the real thing.

one of the best Akira drawings I have seen. Most likely i would think it is a keyframe for the animation.

Having compared it to images on eBay of other anime (e.g., Totoro), I am now pretty sure this is a high quality reproduction and not an original. But it sure is cool.
