Classical music has it's three B's, I have my three C's: Carl Barks, Charles Schulz, and
Chuck Jones. I have always loved their works since growing up in the 1960's, but I don't normally seek out vintage original pieces because of the expense and issues of provenance. However, I've gotten lucky and found affordable examples of Barks and Schulz. At San Diego in July 2011, I purchased a Rikki-Tikki-Tavi pencil drawing from my friend Scott Emerson.
Just two months later, I found this Warner Bros. animation drawing from the Bugs Bunny cartoon
Transylvania 6-5000 offered by Howard Lowery. This funny 1963 film comes almost at the end of the great runs of Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes. Count Bloodcount is a transforming vampire who sets his eye on Bugs Bunny. Reading from a book of magic spells, fast-thinking Bugs is able to foil the Count in a number of ingenious maneuvers. I wish I was able to conduct myself so well.
