Les cases de chevauchées sont splendides, l’une avec un château en arrière-plan, une autre avec une chaumière, l’avant dernière case étant l’une des plus belles de la série, en plein contre-jour, au coucher du soleil. Cette planche est aussi l’occasion de 2 splendides
portraits des héros. Les cases avec les cigognes, moyen de locomotion des Schtroumpfs, sont très rares dans la série, au nombre de 3 dans La flûte à six schtroumpfs, de 3 dans Le sortilège de Maltrochu. Cet album marque le grand retour de Pierre Culliford pour cette série, après plus de 6 ans d’absence dans les pages du journal Spirou. Cet album est le dernier de la série à avoir été réalisé par l’artiste.

The panels showing riding are quite wonderful, one of them with the castle as a backdrop, another with a cottage, with the penultimate panel being one of the most magnificent in the series, in full contre-jour during sunset.
This strip additionally shows two magnificent portraits of the heroes. The panels with storks, the means of transportation for Smurfs, are very rare in the series, with three of these appearing in The Smurfs and the Magic Flute, and three in Malrochu’s Spell. This album marks the return of Pierre Culliford to the series, following more than six years of absence from the Spirou. This was the final album in the series to be illustrated by the artist.
