I remember seeing the title Wallace Wood did for "The Mad Horror Primer" and a similar monsters-in-the-letters title by a lesser artist and noticed that, while the lesser artist ran out of ideas after the first few letters, Wood filled every letter with neat stuff. That was something that impressed me about Wood, he always did things first class.

The primers were a recurring feature of Mad Magazine during its halcyon days. They would take a theme, in this case horror, and write it up like a school primer book. At the time, I thought this particular article was the absolute pinacle of art in Mad.
