I asked Keith Pollard to do his interpretation of a page from Marvel Two in One # 76, my beloved first comic book and the inspiration for my collection of themed original art. Much to my great delight, Keith accepted my proposal. At the time, this was his first "panel" page in many, many years. To insure that he wasn't influenced in any way by the original, published art, Keith asked that he work from a re-created "script" for this scene and not from the published comic book itself. Keith worked very quickly and sent a prelim for approval before starting on the final drawing.
I really love how Keith approached this page. His visual storytelling is so good that you don't need any words to figure out what is going on in the scene. Such an incredible talent. I love comparing the original (far left) to the new version (far right), just to see how the artists (Jerry Bingham and Keith) both got from A to B in the story, but in their own way.
Spoiler alert: In this scene, the Thing, Giant Man (Bill Foster) and Ice Man are in the grips of the Ringmaster's diabolical hypnosis machine. Only some quick action from Ice Man turns the tide! Also seen on this page are Princess Python and the Crafty Clown, both members of the evil Circus of Crime.
