Description

August 17, 1571 - The Venetian Captain and Governor of Cyprus, Marcantonio Bragadin, ferociously tortured (then horribly slaughtered) by Turks, after the long siege of Famagosta.

Giacinto Gaudenzi has painted many pages of this monumental work (the history of Italy from the foundation of Rome till the Republican Constitution in 1946), ideated and written by the Italian journalist and writer Enzo Biagi.
