Kate Beaton is the cartoonist of Hark! A Vagrant. The web comic is now collected into a hardcover book by Drawn & Quarterly. Kate was a guest at the Alternative Press Expo. While waiting in line, I saw she was doing drawings as well. I debated whether to ask for the historical figure Admiral Lord Nelson or the fictional Sherlock Holmes. I flipped through the book and saw a couple Holmes cartoons so I went with him.
