DescriptionSpider-Man: Marvel Adventures # 11 CoverAfter being severely beaten and outbid on the last 2 McFarlane Lizard covers, this is my consolation prize. Lol. And what a prize it is. It's no secret that Patrick is my favorite Spidey artist of the modern era. So whenever Patrick offers up a Lizard cover for sale, who am I to say no? I just love this cover. I really do. Spidey's been around for nearly 50 years now and has battled the Lizard on several occassions. Usually it's the Lizard snarling and chomping at Spidey. I've never seen any artist draw the Lizard attacking Spider-Man from this perspective. Only in New York do you hear stories about giant snakes, alligators, rats or mutant (ninja) turtles crawling out of the sewer. To top things off, who knew the Lizard was a student of Mixed Martial Arts? Any fight fan can see that the Lizard has Spider-Man trapped in a rear naked choke hold. Just look at those finger nails clawing into Spidey's head. Ouch! As if that weren't enough, the Lizard is using his tail to also go for the arm bar. Lol. Thanks again to Patrick and his agent Spencer. Cheers! N. Social/Sharing |

For the money, I'll take Scherberger over McFarlane any day of the week. I loved this one when I first saw it in Patrick's gallery. Congrats on the smart pick up! Happy New Year buddy!

That may be the cleanest manhole cover in all of New York - LOL! Scherberger's unique perspective and innovative layouts continue to impress. You already had him drawing the skyline, so I guess a street level view was next. Congratulations on a very unique acquisition!

Yeesh I can smell the sewer and the fear in Spidey's heart. Magnificent cover too good to be thought of as a consolation prize. Congrats.

My bad for not having commented before! I almost picked this up from Patrick at Phoenix Comicon a few years back but didn't pull the trigger. Now I'm regretting a bit but regardless, congrats on a super grab. Love the detail on the Lizard's hand holding Spidey's head!
