Karate Kid vs.
Lei Kung by
Kagan McLeod
Infinite Kung Fu was one of my favorite comics to come out last year. Kagan McLeod is a major talent, and I will be buying anything else I see his name on. When I saw that Kagan was coming to Wizard World New Orleans 2012, I got in touch with him before the show and set this commission up. I love that he used some unique action poses for his piece and how he showed these two true martial arts masters locking eyes and seemingly matching each other's move for move. Big thanks again to Kagan!
This would be a fight for the ages! Lei Kung has studied every style of martial art available to him and combined them in unique ways so that he knows an "infinite" number of styles of kung fu. The only thing is, Val Armorr has does the same thing. And Val has had the unique opportunity to learn all of the styles developed by the 31st Century by both humans AND all of the many alien species they have met at that point. So while I do think it will be a long fight, I believe Val will ultimately triumph. Maybe I can commission Kagan to draw the entire 400-page fight scene some time. :)
If you like this piece then please do go buy some books featuring Kagan's work in either physical or digital format and/or go buy some of his art yourself.
