The most memorible Rai is Takao Konishi, who along with Magnus Robot Fighter led a revolt against the Malev Emperor and her legion in the 43rd century. Takao recieved the " Blood of Heroes". This is the same blood that ran through the hero known as Bloodshot. The Malev Emperor gained control of Takao, and he begged Magnus to end his life for the sake of mankind. He had a son from a brief love affair with Leeja. His son is known as the Last Rai.

Set in the same doomed future that Magnus Robot Fighter inhabits, this series continues the story of that war against robots gone amok. Here, a new Rai fights side by side with Magnus, Leeja, and other brave humans against the Malev robot menace. Their battle spans the entire globe, from the overrun cities of North Am to the mechanized island that once was Japan.

Tekla is becoming more and more human, and more in love with Magnus. Rai is getting a little uncontrollable, too. Rai & The Future Force is becoming more like a second tier Magnus book, instead of a Rai book.
