Description

This is a penciled commission by the late GREAT John Buscema re-creating one of the three most iconic covers he ever produced... Sub-Mariner #1. (The other two being Silver Surfer #1 and Avengers #57) I love the look of just his raw pencils without all the word balloons. For me John Buscema was "the look" of Marvel from the late '60's into the '70's, and this powerful piece reminds me why. (Sorry the image seems a bit faint. The art is framed and that makes it hard to get a good picture without glare.)

Thanks Matt! I feel lucky to have this piece. I bought this directly from John himself when he had the "Official John Buscema Website" ... which no longer exists since his passing.

My biggest regret is not commissioning something directly from John back then. Congrats on owning a true beauty!

Well said Larry. That's how I feel about most of the greats of my lifetime who've passed on. Unfortunatley there's not enough money or time to do such things. Thanks for the thoughful comment.
