DescriptionSo, who doesn't want an original Alex Schomburg golden age cover? I certainly do, but like nearly everyone else... I simply can't have one. So I commissioned Terry Twigg back in 2004 to give me a Schomburg-like image based on the classic Golden Age cover to USA Comics #7 from 1943. The image actually inspired the famous Alex Ross painting in "MARVELS" of the golden age Marvel heroes converging from the sky to attack a German installation. (I asked Terry not to include Bucky firing his rifle though.) As always Terry did a MAGNIFICENT job! Using his specialty of working with pastels, he creates a lush and dramatic piece harkening back to Schomburg and the Golden Age style he used on his classic covers. I've also included the original cover to USA #7 and an image of the Alex Ross homage for comparison. The art is framed and hard to photograph well, but I did the best I could. I hope you all like it as much as I do.Social/Sharing |
