Super Villian Team-Up Mock Cover Val Semieks and Chris Ivy

Ok, When I got the pencils for Blastarr and Annihilus from Val, it took me a while to decide who to ink it. Then I began seeing Chris Ivy's inks and mock cover designs pop up on Aidan and Mike Finn's galleries and it hit me he would be perfect for this.
I sent the pencils to Chris, they were 11x14 on a full 11x17 page but slightly offset from center. I then had this cool idea from Marvel's early 70's cover designs to use the image like the old "box" cover design used way back when. Logo title and masthead up top, image inceneter to lower portion of page and then a blurb of some type across the bottom.
I asked him to use #18 on the issue to continue the original title's run.
Chris loved the idea! His inks on this piece are stellar!

I have shown a plain inked version along with the finished with logo work. He also included for fun a Giant Sized SVTU logo just in case.

When i sent a copy to Val for him to see, his response was "This came out great. Awesome, in fact. I’d have bought this comic for the cover alone!

Pretty good praise from the penciller I think.
This has to be one of the best experiences I have had working with Chris, and it will definately not be the last!
