DescriptionPage 17 from issue 260 of Marvel's "X-Men: Legacy" (Vol 1, 2011). Inks by Ed Tadeo. 11" x 17.25" Marvel Artboard.Picked this up not knowing that "Blue Line Pencils" should really be listed as "Blue-colored COPIES of Pencils" (second time I've been burned by this: see my Grim Ghost pages). Well now I know what to look out for. So, original inks-only here over "Blue-colored copy of pencils" (though they look more green). Love Rogue in panel 2. Social/Sharing |

sorry to hear you got burnt on the blue line pencil thing. Though some artists (myself included) actually do use a blue pencil to draw and then ink directly over those pencil. So I guess the actual issue is whether it is a COPY or blue line pencils... regardless, its still a really lovely page. The close up panel of Cyke is brilliant.

The close up panel of Cyke is brilliant.The guy I got it from had some other art listed with the same "Blue Line Pencils" and I asked him specifically what that meant and he replied "Blueline pencils are a type of scanned/printed copy of the original pencils, that are then inked. This way of working is becoming increasingly common in comics today, as it does not require artists to ship the original pencils back and forth to each other. These are the original inks as published in the comic." I know some people (like you) use actual blue pencils, I think I own something with real blue pencils too... and that's what I thought these were (along with the Jones "Grim Ghost" pieces." At least, like you said, they ARE nice pages and original inks. :) Thanks!
