Description
Alec MacGarry is the alter ego of Eddie Campbell, and although Eddie's own flees from the definition of autobiographical comic, the truth is that Alec we find a kind of diary covering almost the entire life of the author and that it tells his life and those that surround him. For all the people that do not have read this masterpiece, ( because yes, Alec is a masterpiece, and that the author wishes to be remembered rather than the famous From Hell ) you must consider that is not a easy and accessible work. I myself had to leave it on some occasions by the unpleasant and strange thing that was to me ( this happened especially with this two tales: "The King Canute Crowd" and with "Graffiti Kitchen" ). But if you give one second opportunity to this work, i assure to you that it will not defraud. it hooked to me with his stories about the world of alternative comic that emerged in England, and with his stories about how he began to take his first steps in the world of comic, making his own fanzines. And i assure to you that the best thing of Alec is not the stories, if not the acid vision that Eddie reflected in his pages.

On this page, Eddie returns from a long trip, and the brick of which speaks is his Ignatz Award won by his work in From Hell with Alan Moore and that he can not take with the luggage because it weighed too much. Also he explains how he feels to be his own publisher, and like this new facet of his career can remove his dream.

Wonderful page. Alec is one of the quiet, undiscovered gems of the comics medium - you're right to describe it as a masterpiece; it stands unique.
