Description
Mr. Freeze has one of the most touching back stories, unrequited love and unable to come to terms with what really occured. I was influenced by some of the other art I have seen on the site showing the deceased Nora with Mr. Freeze when I asked Stuart to create this piece.

At 2012 Wondercon I bumbled through a description of Mr. Freeze and Nora without the helmet, let the viewer determine whether she is a ghost or his remembrance of her and a feeling of sadness. Besides his unique style, Stuart is able to take a general description and make it work before the end of the show, really amazing!

The extra elements that Stuart added were the clasping of the hands, her hair forming a kind of sort of helmet and the icicle tears. Without those elements the art would have been ok, however with those elements the piece now takes on all sorts of emotion.

Obviously, i would totally recommend seeking Stuart out for a commission at a show, he is super friendly and produces very special stuff.

Phenomenal piece of art! It's always great to give Stuart a 'feeling' for a piece and then let him run with it. Congrats!

Stuart will never let you down... and he will always go the extra mile. I love how he wasn't so literal with this- it's almost as if Nora were taunting Mr. Freeze. Or the memories of her. It just amazes me how good Stuart is!!!

Very much agreed with Stuart's talent, if he is at a convention I always look forward to asking for something. Sometimes my ideas are a little abstract and looking at it from a third party perspective not often communicated well. However, he has this ability to understand what I am stammering about, add to it and give me more than I expected.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm expecting my second commission from him... and he clicked immediately with what I was trying to convey. Such a great talent! And again, let me say that this piece is one of his better ones, imho. Congrats on such an evocative stunner. :)

This is the kind of commisasion so amazing that it could be a cover- and if it were a cover, it would entice me to buy the issue just to have the cover! Masterpiece.
