DescriptionGreg Manchess originally painted this as a demo while teaching at the Illustration Master Class at Amherst College. This punky take on The Wizard of Oz struck a chord with us and we wrestled with him for it for a little over a year before Greg agreed we'd give it a good home. Shown here without the frame, our publisher, distributor, and the booksellers wanted it to be the cover of Spectrum 17. We innocently told them, "Well, if you insist..."If you want to see a magic show, watch Manchess paint live the next time the opportunity arises. You'll be glad you did. Oil on stretched linen. 22"x22" Social/Sharing |

Amazing piece and one of the coolest galleries on CAF already. I'm green with jealous rage!
