Omigosh, when I saw this for sale I did a silent scream! This is from the story "Why Won't They Believe Me?" that was imprinted in my 7-year-old psyche back in 1975 as the backup story to Deathlok, in Astonishing Tales issue # 31. It blew my mind as a kid.

I only found out a few years ago that it first appeared in Silver Surfer #3 in 1968. Making this my only Silver Age page : ) And what a sweet page it is. I can't believe I own this.... Few stories could possibly have more sentimental value for me (and my brothers) than this one.

NIIICE. If memory serves, this story is a retelling of a Lee/ Ditko story from a pre-Spidey issue of Amazing Fantasy, so in a sense the history is even longer than you describe-- back to the dawn of the Silver Age.
