Iron Man 2.0 Part 04

After color testing the last scan, I retraced the figure and tightened up the details on the armor. What I'm most proud of, though, isn't the armor: it's Tony Stark. I referenced dozens of photos of Robert Downey Jr to inject some of those nuances into his face without going all the way to it being a pencil portrait. I'm not billing this as "Robert Downey Jr as Bleeding Edge Iron Man." At this point, I'm contemplating whether to render one piece of the armor at a time rather than all at once. I'm using my roughs to get a sense as to where the gleams should go on the suit; I'm approaching this on the level of rendering a car. Tony's all about style and streamlined edges, so it's important to keep that in mind. But the figure's only one part of this endeavour. Stay tuned...
