Lauren Faust: Zecora drawing

Comic fans may be surprised, but this is the sketch I consider myself the luckiest to come back from San Diego with. Lauren Faust is an animator best known for creating the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" show for the HUB network. She also created "Super Best Friends Forever" for the DC Nation shorts, and with her husband Craig McCracken will be coming out with "Wander Over Yonder" for the Disney Channel. While at San Diego, Lauren tweeted that she wanted to get the two exclusive pony toys at the con, and offered to do sketches for the first people to reply that they would bring them to her. Someone else (another artist, actually) replied right away that they would bring her the Hasbro pony, and I was lucky enough to be the first one to reply about the Toys-R-Us pony. Lauren is a very fan-friendly (and generous) person to do this, she has donated pony sketches to charity auctions before that have sold for thousands of dollars. When I brought it over to her, she actually remembered meeting me at her booth back in 2007 when she was promoting her own creation, "Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls" along with her husband Craig, who did this sketch for me from another show they both worked on, "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends"...
