Description

This is a companion piece to the "Young Brandy, etc." piece in this gallery. It is an inked daily for the proposed strip Annie's Little Orphans. Apparently after rejecting the version of Annie that looked like Brandy Carter, Stan Drake went for a clone of his preexisting character, Eve Jones, from The Heart of Juliet Jones. The strip was rejected but at least this daily was circulated to the publishers. The clashing of styles, having Stan Drake do Annie and Bill Yates do everyone else is apparent here. You almost expect them to say, "It's pretty obvious that at least one of us is in the wrong strip!"
