Marco Venanzi is a Belgian artist spacialized in historical comics. He made his debut in 1990 with 'L'Abbé Froidure', a comic written by Michel Dussard and published in album by Editions Coccinelle. Two years later, he succeeded André Juillard on the 'Masquerouge' series, written by Patrick Cothias. The series is published in Glénat's Vécu collection, for which he also created 'Hidalgos' with Michel Pierret between 2003 and 2007. Venanzi and Pierret have shared art duties on further projects like 'Opération Dragon Rouge' (script Thierry Robberecht, Casterman, 2006) and 'Protocole Aida' (script Yannick Laude, Casterman, 2008).

With Benoît Despas, he has created the one shot 'Auriac' for Coccinelle BD in 2002. In 2010, he wrote and drew 'Le Testament de Caesar', the 29th album in Jacques Martin's 'Alix' series. He has also provided artwork for Martin's collections 'Les Voyages d'Alix' and 'Les Voyages de Jhen'. Venanzi has also worked for Je Bouquine and a comic about soccer player Zidane (Casterman, 2005).
