"Tad" Dorgan: Outdoor Sports, Ca. early 1920s

Another Tad classic with an exceptionally good gaggle of grotesque caricatures. What I love about this drawing is that Tad uses every technique in his arsenal. I love his use of horizontal hatching to de-emphasize the background figures, and the blank wall perfectly frames the main group of characters. Otherwise, the political hypocrisy portrayed by the cartoon is perfectly relevant today, though it's hard to imagine a senator getting by with a staff of only six these days.
