Description

Dave Wachter had been previously added to this gallery when a friend offered to digitally stitch the Jonah Hex and Thing pieces together for display here. Now Dave has come through with his official offering for the gallery. I've been impressed by Dave as an artist from the first time that I saw his work at the amazing Comic Geek Speak Show in Reading, PA in 2009. Since that time, I've enjoyed getting to know him a bit as a person as well as having the good fortune to pick up a handful of commissions. I'm not sure whether the interactions and the previous commissions were a factor, but when I approached Dave to do a piece for the Ben Grimm's Poker Game Gallery, he agreed to my request of "Ben, Logan, Spider-Man and 2-3 characters of your choice"........ adding a dozen additional characters, multiple stories (Including pathos-filled as well as humorous depictions), plus a detailed background that showcased many historical Marvel moments in the form of framed photos along the walls of the bar. Trust me, a great deal of the intricacies on the page are lost in the scan. *Not even including the Power Man & Iron Fist "photo" that was cut off in the scanning process*.... my mind is blown away by how artists are continually stepping up and surpassing my expectations with these pieces!

Dave Wachter is an amazing artist and your collection is missing something if you haven't added a piece by him yet.

Good Gravy, the amount put into this piece is staggering! WIsh I had a larger scan to cathc all the deatils he added. Great going with this addition!
