Description
In my opinion, Gasoline Alley originals don't get much better than this...unless, of course, they show Skeezix as a toddler along with his dog, Pal. I like the fact that Frank King never failed to make some reference to major holidays, even to those which were only celebrated in America. Chic Young gave up that practice very early on, and, even if he was trying to make his strip more universally acceptable, I truly doubt that foreign readers would have been confused or offended by the mere mention of American holidays in a strip drawn by an American. And even if they did, this particular strip is so cute and clever that the risk was one well taken!
