Karate Kid vs.
Leonardo by
Evan Shaner
This one came about in a different way. Evan had been drawing some of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and posting them online. I dug them and told him one day that I might have to get him to draw something Turtle-related for me. He suggested Karate Kid vs. Leonardo, a matchup I already wanted, and away we went. And a couple of weeks later he shows me this! First off, I love the perspective. It's always cool when an artist tries something different for one of these pieces. And as much as I like to see Karate Kid attacking, seeing him dodging or blocking is just as cool. Strangely enough, I think my favorite bit in this commission is the shadow of Karate Kid's feet. Thanks again to Evan for another killer piece!
Leonardo is (in my opinion) probably the best technical fighter of the Turtles. He practices the most and is the most disciplined. He would probably be amazed at some of Val Armorr's moves, but that wouldn't stop him from trying to take Val out! His katana might give him a few extra seconds, but Val would soon take those out of the fight before schooling Leo. But I also think that Val would be impressed by Leo, and offer to teach him a few new moves after he knocks him on his butt.
