Description
Flamingo which ran from 1952-1956 was the toned-down comic strip version of the hot comic book feature. It originated with Matt Baker, the first African American to draw a nationally-syndicated strip. This is by his successor, John Thornton. The lack of a year is strange since, in the 1950's specifying a date was a requirement for copyright registration. The years I've put in are from the take over of Thornton to the strip's end.
