DescriptionKathy surprised me with another wonderful Christmas gift - a Rush Heath cover recreation.I have loved the Sea Devil covers for decades, but I wasn't sure that Russ Heath was still drawing. Then I saw this article about Russ.. I contacted Steve Wyatt about Russ' rates and schedule. Steve represented Russ late in his life. Then I added it to the list that I give Kathy of potential commissions.Kathy ordered this for me some time ago, but didn't give it to me for various reasons over the last year. In the meantime, I ordered a different cover from Russ, Showcase 29 featuring the Sea Devils. Luckily, we chose different covers! :) She chose this cover for two reasons:

Very cool. Sea Devils would be my favorite art by Heath.

Nice one Alex! Russ Heath and Nick Cardy seemed to draw the same kind of giant sea-horses at right a round the same time!

Turned out great! Russ never hid his displeasure with some of the coloring work done on his drawings. So when he colors his own he is, mostly, very happy. A true artist and a great person. Congrats!

To discover Russ Heath still doing commissions is a nice find, but to have the kind of gift-giving thoughtful wife you have is a GREAT find! Hopefully this is a fitting comment for me to make here on this Valentines' Day! :)
