Where to start, the beginning i guess.
In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit… no wait that is a different story.
I contacted Mr Weeks back at the start of Heroes con and i inquired about a cover quality commission. He was a bit reluctant to do a piece like this at first but after some gentle pushing he agreed.
The choice was easy, i wanted HULK. Lee is one of the best Hulk artists, but he also one of the best Daredevil artists in my eyes. So i thought it would be fun to let Lee loose on both of them and see what he could cook up.
This was by far the best commission experience i have had. Lee did more roughs then he usually does for his published work. He kept me updated at every stage and was a complete gentleman and professional.
The piece is 11 by 17, pencils, ink, washes. This might even be going in to Lee's sketchbook (fingers crossed).
What a way to start you CAF updates in 2013!!! The two characters I immediately think of when it comes to Lee Weeks. I'm absolutely jealous of this stunning piece. Congrats George!
I haven't commented on this yet?!?!?! I always love Lee's commissions and this one is no exception. I love the choice of characters and think Lee did a great job putting them into an action splash scene. Congrats on a great score!!! My mind is racing with ides to pitch to Lee!
