The Simpsons Handbook [Hardcover]: Hulk Homer, Bart-man & Fallout Boy [inside front cover] Mr Burns [back cover]

During the Summer of 2012 I attended the Fan Exo convention in Toronto. I had a chance to meet two former artists of The Simpsons comics [by publisher Bongo]. Both Ken Wheaton & Ty Templeton were present doing sketches so I asked them to do a Simpsons sketch in my hardcover book. In the additional photos section below is are several sketches by Ty Templeton.

The sketch that Ken Wheaton drew completely blew me away! He took the book back to his hotel room one night during the convention to work on it and I picked it up the next day. I couldn't believe it when I opened the book and saw Hulk Homer with Bart in his Bart-man costume trick or treating with Millhouse as Fallout Boy. Not only did he do the sketch as promised he created a whole scene with word bubbles.

Ty Templeton also did several awesome sketch in the back of my book. With each bust Ty wrote a cleaver word ballon above. Ty recognized this book and said that all of the artist that worked on the Simpsons were given a copy for chatacter reference. This book shows how to draw all the main & secondary characters from the series including backgrounds.

Both creators were incredibly nice people and fun to chat with! Both Ken & Ty told me they are not allowed to do paid Simpsons commission as per the long list of Simpsons rules. But they're allowed to do personalized sketches inside books and paid Simpsons merchandise. Apparently all Simpsons artwork must be sent into the studio or destroyed. One of the reasons you don't really see Simspons art for sale online or at conventions.
