Wolverine #101 page 16

I was doing a small convention in Toledo, Ohio and not a whole lot was going on. I did an early commission, so I had a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket. As small comic cons original art is either non-existant, or you have to ask if they have a binder. I was talking to one of the dealers, and someone else asked if he had any art. The person flipped through it, and didn't buy anything.

I walked over and paged through. I saw a Wolverine page for $35, and I had just done a commission for $25. At this point, you should know that in the life of a low-income comic artist, you generally have a $10-$20 lunch budget. Today I had $10, so I let the dice roll and handed the money over. Thankfully a kind young lady bought a drawing later, so I was able to have both the page and a sandwich.

I have no idea who I bought it from, or where any of those folks are now. This was sometime around the year 2000.
