DescriptionIn 1982 I met Mr. Julsing at a comic convention. At my request he made me a drawing of Wellington Wish, using a marker. The first draft (a very nice drawing, in my opinion) was to my amazement immediately torn to pieces.Mr. Julsing seemed to struggle to get the character, which he probably hadn't drawn for about ten years, right. I was very happy with the result. I put it in a frame and hung it on the wall of my study. It became bleached by the sun. After a year I wrote Mr. Julsing a letter, enclosing the bleached drawing, asking him if maybe he could do it again in pencil. Some months later I received an enveloppe with three drawings: the one I sent him, the drawing you see here: a new headshot in pencil to replace the first one and a fully inked full body drawing. I was so happy! I still am gratefull for his great kindness. Social/Sharing |
