�� This is my favorite purchase from SDCC 2012. Caught up with Adam Warren at the Udon booth and looked through his portfolio. Although there were already empty pages, I was able to buy this great combat page which precedes a page I bought 9 years ago. In panels 1 and 2, Linna deploys her razor-sharp ribbons. Sylia deploys her knife from her left arm in panel 3 and prepares her knuckle buster from her right hand in panel 4.. In panel 5, she employs them simultaneously. As the boomer falls to the ground in panel 6, Priss comes down for a landing next to Nene.

�� Bubblegum Crisis is the story of four women who don armored suits to form the Knight Sabers. Set in Megatokyo in the years 2032 and 2033, they fight the Genom Corp. This began as a direct-to-video animation program in Japan and became one of the first officially licensed American video releases from Animeigo. Toren Smith of Studio Proteus got the license for an American comic book and released BGC Grand Mal through Dark Horse.

�� I saw Adam Warren at Fanimecon 1993 and he was showing off his work for the then upcoming BGC miniseries. I was awed by the vast improvement in his art from the early Dirty Pair stories and said so. Adam turned to indicate BGC character designer Kenichi Sonoda and said he was following a master. Sonoda's comic works Gunsmith Cats and Cannon God Exaxxion are available from Dark Horse.

�� Credits for inking the series include Adam Warren, Robert DeJesus, Harry Candelario, Dave Johnson, Tom Raney, Karl Story, and Brad Vancata. Lettering is by Tomoko Saito. Adam said he did all the early pages by himself, but had to call in help to finish.
